Here's a picture of some good boxes for storing parts. They're molded out of polypropylene (fuel proof) with fixed compartments (so your screws won't migrate from one compartment to another). The lids are properly hinged and have good latches.
They come in several configurations; the picture shows a couple of varieties. You can get them from Small Parts and McMaster-Carr.
