You've seen those BMW Mini Coopers, right? Well, here's the real thing, courtesy of John Morrow. He writes:

Here are pics of what was my main hobby until the applecart got upset by having a go at combat again. Several years ago, I decided I had to try my hand at Classic (Vintage) rally driving. So have now done three Monte Carlo rallys (London to Monaco). These are always in midwinter and in treacherous conditions. In 2001, we came 2nd in class and 17th overall out of a field of 200+ (best result to date). In 2002 I was a member of the official Cooper Car Co team - an achievement which still seems cool and has immense bragging potential when at the pub! But even a 1965 Mini (I think the cheapest car to rally in), purchased for a mere $1200 can become bankruptcy-threatening. Combat is much more reasonable! But I've had a lot of fun with rallying and am keen to do another European long distance event if I can find a sponsor.

The car, by the way, is a 1293cc Morris Mini Cooper "S" and finished as a full BMC Competitions Department "Works replica." The motor puts out 100bhp at the wheels, so it's quite a little beast. For now, it's still living with my co-driver/engine builder, Bill Richards, in England.
