A discussion of the different sorts of glue we use for building (epoxy, polyurathane, CyA, J&B Weld, and so forth).
Using one of these very fine tips makes it a lot easier to manage CyA glue.
To get wet epoxy off your fingers, use rubbing alcohol. To avoid getting it on your fingers in the first place, use disposable vinyl gloves (latex gloves are inadequate).
Can be thinned with water, for lighter weight. Easily sanded, it also melts under moderate heat (for example, when applying solarfilm over it).
Last night, I dreamed I needed to thin my polyurethane glue, so I added water to the bottle. -- Howard Rush
Rubber cement, while not the strongest glue in the drawer, is great for fastening sandpaper to sanding blocks (especially those extruded aluminum sanding bars). Then, when you want to replace the sandpaper, you just peel off the old piece. |
