Jeffrey Rein also builds planes. Here's a pair he build a few years ago. He writes:
Here is a picture of a couple of retired projects. In 1990, I built a double-engine fast combat plane. On its maiden flight, while doing consecutive inside loops with 2 Fox MK IV's pulling it, the outboard wing and motor blew off. The crowd cheered and I flew the rest of the flight on one motor. I repaired it, then promptly retired it.
The other plane is called the Double Edged Sword of Death. At 60", it is longer than the double-engine fast plane. It's a stretched version of the Infamous Sword of Death, powered by two VA .049's. It was very difficult to trim with the ultra high aspect ratio, but once trimmed, it flew fairly well.
