First off, you need to know that "Aussie" is actually pronounced like "Auzzie". These are pictures of a plane built by Brian Greeves for Australian-rules combat. The wing is foam, covered with brown paper. Weighs about 18 ounces. Looks quite similar to older FAI models, but scaled up to fit the engine (looks like a Fox Combat Special, Mark III).
The fuel compartment holds a pacifier tank (they call it a baby's dummy), which are popular in that area. Notice the triangular needle valve support; helps to avoid a bent needle during a crash. The prop looks like a Taipan. The wire running across the engine is a leash, tying the engine to the bellcrank in case of disaster. |
